Ethnodata utiliza argumentos de varias disciplinas para pensar las muertes violentas en el Ecuador. El cuestionamiento permanentemente sobre cómo se construyen y representan los datos atraviesa los elementos multimedia y los ensayos que ofrece a sus usuarios. La neutralidad, el uso y las limitaciones de los datos son algunas de las discusiones que, alimentadas por los estudios de ciencia y tecnología, se encuentran detrás de la construcción de la plataforma. Esta bibliografía alimentó y problematizó las definiciones de las cifras, la etnografía, el diseño, lo digital y la cartografía.
